How?

I will be offering two different 4 week sessions of group music lessons. The first is for beginners and the second is for students with experience. Registration will include 4, 1-hour classes and access to a variety of learning resources developed by Sage including youtube tutorials and lyrics/chord documents. Bring your own instrument (let me know if you need help locating one).

Beginners Session:

The beginning group music lesson is for both guitar and ukulele for ages 10 and up.

Learning targets include: parts of your instrument, playing position, chord chart literacy, chord fluency and basic strum and picking techniques.

Learning Strategies will include direct instruction, small group activities and large group music making. My goal is to have us in a circle jam structure by Week 4.

Secondary Session:

The Secondary group music lesson is for both guitar and ukulele for ages 10 and up. It is expected that everyone who registers for this session is already familiar with chords and basic strumming patterns.

Learning targets include: Intro to labeling/manipulation of the basic musical elements including tempo, dynamics, form, melody/harmony, basic chord theory.

Learning Strategies will include direct instruction, small group music making and large group music making with the accompaniment of drums/bass.
